What is Clubs by Eastwood City Chess?
Clubs by ECC is a socials-first chess club platform. Every tournament is built to be shared: pairings, standings and results become ready-made posts and images, every player gets a certificate, and a QR code sends everyone to a live player page on their phone, where they can find their board and replay their games. Behind the scenes it does the organizing for you: members in one place, Swiss or round robin pairings for each round, and digital game recording.
How much does it cost to start?
Nothing to start. Every new club automatically gets 1 tournament credit, enough to run your first tournament and try every feature. Clubs with no credits or subscription also get 1 free tournament credit on the 1st of every month (it expires at the end of the month). You can subscribe monthly for unlimited tournaments or buy more tournament credits, which never expire, whenever you are ready.
Which tournament formats are supported?
Swiss tournaments with automatic next-round pairings, no rematches, balanced colours and Buchholz tie-breaks, and round robin tournaments where everyone plays everyone once.
Do players need an account?
No. Players open the tournament link or scan the QR code, type their name, and see their board, their colour and who they play. They can also replay and download their recorded games.
Can players record their games digitally?
Yes. Each board gets its own PIN when a round is generated. Both players use the PIN to unlock a digital board, move the pieces, and the moves are saved. Once the next round opens, everyone can replay the game and download it as a PGN file.
Can I show a tournament on a TV or projector?
Yes. The organizer turns on the TV view for a tournament, then opens the player page on the screen. It shows pairings and standings in large type, a page at a time, and can replay random recorded games on a big board. It refreshes by itself at an interval you choose.
Is my members' information public?
No. Public pages show tournament pairings, standings and results only. Member lists, emails and phone numbers are never shown.
What can I share after a tournament?
Announcement and pairing posts, standings and result images, and certificates for every player, all with a QR code that links to the live tournament page.
